Queen’s Road
MRP Nottingham have submitted plans for phase 2 of its hybrid residential scheme on Queen’s Road, Nottingham. White and White worked on a series of verified views and supporting illustrative images for the latest application, alongside Preconstruct in December 2023.
The latest phase will include 247 apartments and will be made up of a part-8, part-9 and part-18 storey building. These will be a mix of build-to-rent studios, 1-bed, 2-bed, and 3-bed apartments, and shared 4- and 5-bed apartments.
Phase 1, which includes a 406-bed student accommodation scheme, is already under construction on site.
The site, at the busy junction of Queens Road and London Road, was the historic site of “Wagon Works” surrounded by other production works such as iron, steel and lace, located opposite in the Hicking Building – itself now a successful mixed use scheme.
A planning statement reads: “The site of the proposed development is in a highly accessible and sustainable city centre location. It will redevelop an underutilised site for residential use and add to the choice of housing available in the city centre. The proposed development will preserve and enhance the character and appearance of the Station Conservation Area and improve the wider street scene.”
