Close to the Hedge

This Thursday (April 25th 2024 6PM) an image Matthew shot as part of his “Goldsworth Park” project will be exhibited as part of “Close to the Hedge” at Gareth Gardner Gallery in Deptford.

The photograph “Helmsdale” was shot at about 5:30 in the morning last summer when Matthew spent a month focusing solely on documenting the housing estate that he grew up on. It was the aim to shoot the whole project over the course of the month but it soon became clear that a month was not enough time. The project is ongoing and Matthew is looking forward to documenting the seasons across the park.
