8 Lancelot Place

At the beginning of the year we worked with River Film on images for the refurbishment of 8 Lancelot Place, providing aerial imagery, views from windows and reflections. In early January we kept a close eye on Harrods to see when they would remove their Chistmas lights as they cover the front facade. In the mean time we applied for 2 permissions to fly the drone, as the site sits within the Battersea Heliport and EGR157 Hyde Park restricted zones. Once all in place we visited site a couple of times.
For the aerial terrace image above we could stand almost next to the drone, our main issue to be resolved on site was the fact the building works were already underway so scaffolding restricted the view. We shot multiple positions along the front to counteract this and we ended up with a fantastic winter sky.

For the interior views we were asked to take photos for the views out the windows. The way we usually do this is handheld through the glass, however, with the building wrapped there were not views out the windows. We decided the best approach was to fly around the building as close as viable to the windows (in front of the wrap) to get the best approximation. The results look great!

We also provided reflection photography for the dusk entrance image below, this involved standing where the 3D camera was set up but shooting in the opposite direction at the correct time of day. It’s quite subtle and many would miss it altogether but it’s the sort of detail which really elevates a final image.

As you can see River Film did a fantastic job visualising 8 Lancelot Place, these images now feature on a website for the development which can be seen here.
